Why Use a Burial Vault?

Most cemeteries are maintained with large commercial mowers and heavy equipment for grave openings and closings such as backhoe's and dumptrucks. This equipment can damage adjacent gravesites. Caskets settle in the ground over time, and heavy equipment from above can shift the ground. Therefore, most cemeteries are now requiring that caskets be placed into a burial vault. A vault serves to protect the casket and the cemetery grounds.

A graveliner is the most basic burial vault, while a water-resistant lined vault provides the most protection to the casket and surrounding ground. Lined vault's are made to guard against moisture and impact from above. The use of lining and sealant materials provide the best protection between the outside forces of weight and water and the burial casket that has been placed within. The liner and seal work together to provide a water-tight unit to keep the effects of the outside elements from damaging the casket and it's contents. A burial vault will provide additional protection and strength, while adding beauty and dignity to the interment process.

All of our Trigard burial vaults come with a limited warranty ranging from 50-80years.
